"Members Only" Spring Jacket

Oh, how I love the combo of vintage and sporty! This jacket looks old skool cool without trying too hard. Sometimes a new retro-inspired piece will have details that give it away as not the original, but this jacket is clean and simple. It doesn't have any weird logos, no cheesy graphic prints, just cool, casual style.

If your style is sporty and you'll be wearing this to the gym, I would recommend the brown.  If you are planning to wear this out at night, I'd opt for the more formal looking black. If you are a hipster, go for gray. If you look great in bright colors, this comes in an awesome red that will give your spring a splash of color. Get ready for spring, gentlemen!

Style and Practicality: What You Need in a Boot

I'm guessing you fellows don't love boot shopping as much as I do, so I'll offer this one as a suggestion. What I like about this Streetcar® Terrain Lace-Up Boot is that it has some of the simple, clean lines that some much more expensive boots have. These will look great for anyone who works in a business casual dress environment. The grey color will pair nicely with black or brown and it has a suede texture which makes it seem more pricey than it is. The sole of this shoe can put up with some rough terrain or snow, hence it's name, which is excellently practical. I especially love that the sole is a bit rugged, but it doesn't come off looking like you are wearing a mountain boot...although, I think this boot could handle it if mountain climbing is where your day takes you!

Side note: Take a new look at JCPenney. They've redone their pricing and I think they are offering some great values. For example, this boot is only $60.00!

Also in walnut brown

Military Look Minus the Grunge

Check out this handsome military shirt. This is no ratty, army green, beat-up piece of canvas. This shirt has some nice details with the buttons on the shoulder and the two pockets in the front.  I love roll-up option on the sleeves too! Old Navy seems to be catching my eye lately, the men's stuff seems more stylish than the women's! I think this shirt looks more expensive than it is, and that is always something to appreciate. So, fellas, buy it up while it's on sale for $20.00!

Also available in black stripe, black, and white

Not Afraid to Be Bold Cardigan

Gentleman, I was genuinely surprised by Old Navy this morning when I went to seek out my blog post.  This cardigan hits on the 80s retro trend without being too over the top about it. Just one bright, bold stripe will do it.  I like that because, honestly, are we really ready for the 80s revival?  Already?  I feel like I'm not really old enough for trends that I lived through the first time, but that is fodder for a different blog. This cardigan will work great with a t-shirt if you are going out casually on a date or with friends for a Friday night.  Or, if you put a button-down shirt and a tie, this cardigan will look dressed up and fresh.

Pick it up for only $35.00 at Old Navy

The Intellectual Writerly Look for Less

Gentlemen, Gentlemen. The artsy, sophisticated look of this sweater will have cute young girls glancing at you over their coffee cups wondering,"What is he writing over there? Is it about me?" Seriously though, this sweater is great. It has a beautiful shawl collar, which is a good look, but can look a little too preppy for the tastes of men who pride themselves on their machismo. The zip-up styling, which is kind of unusual paired with the shawl collar, takes the uppity feeling of this type of collar down a notch. No need to have a golf game lined up, because What you are left with is something a little artsy, a little edgy, and definitely manly.
Available at H & M. You will have to actually go to the store for this one, but the price is right at $50.00 It is also available in navy blue.

Marc Anthony from Kohls Shirt and Tie: Sleek, Clean Contemporary

Ok, Fellas. It's been a long time and for that I apologize. Let me make it up to you with this stylish shirt & tie from Marc Anthony. Regardless of what kind of music you like, don't let it guide your taste in ties. Even if you are not a fan of Marc Anthony, this tie is sharp, clean, and will look great with a variety of shirts. Plus, at Kohls they sell some horrible Jerry Garcia ties which I advise you never to allow into your wardrobe, as much as you may like Jerry Garcia for music. Marc Anthony's clothing collection keeps it fresh without breaking from tradition in ways that might make you look silly. The shirts and ties are easy to combine, and below is my suggestion for a look that is updated and sharp. Trust me, your boss will know you are serious when you show up in this tie.

Note: You should never have to pay full price at Kohls. Their sales are phenomenal and their coupons are generous and regularly circulated. If you are ever going to get a retail store credit card, which I don't recommend in general, the Kohls card is the one to get. It rewards you handsomely for shopping there.
